The CapeTourism / Africaworks Awards 2025 transformed AfricaWorks’ 11th floor of Touchstone House into a lively mix of glamour, laughter, and the faint but unmistakable smell of success (and maybe champagne). There was applause, a few standing ovations, and at least one teary-eyed winner pretending they’d “just got something in their eye.”
Every city likes to think it’s special. But on Tuesday night, perched high above Bree Street with a view that could make even a lifelong local fall in love with Cape Town all over again, it was clear – this city doesn’t just think it’s special. It knows it.
What Makes Cape Town Irresistable?
Now, if awards were purely about data, spreadsheets, and logical reasoning, they’d be as exciting as a tax return. But thankfully, this is Cape Town – a place where logic comes second to beauty, charm, and the occasional spontaneous round of applause. These awards weren’t just about who won. They were about what makes this city irresistible.
From first-time nominees to long-time legends, every category told a story. A story of passion brewed, bottled, roasted, designed, and served with flair.
And after weeks of voting and thousands of opinions, we finally raised a glass to the best of Cape Town, as chosen by the people who live, love, and explore it every day.
