The history of Table Mountain Aerial Cableway dates back to the early 1920s. The construction of the cableway began in 1926 and took just over two years to complete. The project was undertaken by a Swiss company called Adolf Bleichert & Co. The cableway was designed to carry up to 20 passengers per cabin and would take more than 10 minutes to reach the top.
