SPRINGBOK NUDE GIRLS are one of South Africa’s most loved rock bands, known for their high energy stage shows and unique musical sound which combines Rock, Punk, Reggae, Metal, Funk, and Jazz.
One of South Africa’s most decorated and applauded bands of the last three decades, Springbok Nude Girls’ work ethic has never-ever waivered.
With 11 albums, two live recordings, an EP, two DVD releases, and a UK-exclusive release in their coveted arsenal, SNG’s creative curiosity is showing no signs of abating. If anything, their greatest work lies ahead, and with it a growing wall of fans invested in passionate, adrenalin-injected modern rock alchemy.
CRAWLING KING SNAKE is a culmination of various music styles mixed to create a sound that can almost not be classified in one specific genre.
The main recipe is derived from the old deep south, swamp blues as the base ingredient and layered with gospel choir melodies and a hint of electronic dance elements.
In short, CKS is ‘Electro Swamp Boogie Blues’
CKS was originally created in the studio by the Taxi Violence and Goodnight Wembley frontman, George van der Spuy. His initial thought was for it to be a solo project and creative outlet but after multiple requests he decided to take the act to to the stage.
First to jump on the bandwagon was Gust Greyvenstein, bassist from Indika Black, Snowing Down South and Alleen na Desember, to add the groove element in the mix.
The two piece needed a drummer to drive the groove and found Steven Jacobson from We Set Sail, The Sleepers and Monstroid to fill the void.
‘If you ever find yourself at our show, you’ll know your hips are swinging, your feet are tapping and your head is bobbing to something you’ve never heard before, at least we think so.
