Join us for an afternoon of amazing magic with the SA and Junior Magic Champs!

This is a contest event that features contestants from all around South Africa of different skill levels competing to become National Magic Champion.

COLLEGE OF MAGIC

The College of Magic, the only organisation of its kind in the world, has been teaching the theatrical performing art of magic and its allied arts as well as vital life-skills to children and adults since 1980. Our young students have been featured locally and internationally performing all over the world to appreciative audiences.

CAPE MAGICIANS CIRCLE

The Cape Magicians Circle is a society of professional, amateur, and hobbyist magicians based in Cape Town, South Africa. It was founded in 1933. The society meets monthly at the College Of Magic in Claremont, Cape Town.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need to buy separate tickets for each Championships?

Yes, each Champs event/Contest is separately ticketed.

What is the running time?

The Senior Champs – Close-up should run for approx. 45 minutes with no interval. Senior Champs – Stage should run for approx. 2 hours with no interval.

Who will be performing?

In the Senior Champs, amateur and professional magicians from all over South Africa, In the Junior Champs, our College of Magic students, who range between the ages of 10 and 18 years old.

What age is this experience aimed at?

The shows are suitable for family audiences from 8 years old. Please understand that this is a contest, the acts will be separated by musical accompaniment, There will be no host or MC.

Where is it taking place?

The Champs are taking place at the Homecoming Centre (HCC) which was formerly known as The Fugard Theatre. The Close-up Champs will be staged in the Avalon Auditorium with the Stage Champs taking place in the Star Theatre within the HCC venue.
