DNA Café: Stand-up Comedy Open Mic Night | 14 April 2023

NB: Doors open at 6:30 pm | Showtime: 8pm

Stand-up comedy open mic nights are where comedians go to try out some new material.

It’s also a space where aspiring comedians can have a spot to try out their material as well; to find out if they got what it takes to make people laugh.

Sometimes this takes time, but it’s all part of the process.

EVERY well known comedian you can think of started at an Open Mic night. They came in as often as possible, working their material until they got that laugh.

DNA Cafe wants to become a spot where aspiring comedians can have their 5 mins of fame. While also being a spot where any & all comedians can have a fun space to try new material. Who knows? We may find the next Trevor Noah!

So in short, you never know what you gonna get, that’s what makes the night interesting and fun.

Yes, there is an Entrance fee for the audience attending= R80 at the door

Be sure not to use other comedian’s material. Plagiarism will not be tolerated.

Please arrive 30 min before showtime to know when you are on the line up

If it’s your first time (Lucky you) you will have 5 mins on stage, no more, no less.

The organizer will use a phone torch to signal when you have 1 min left. Should you not end your set by the 6th min, music will play and the host will take over, at which point you must leave the stage.

Now remember it ain’t a comedy show without the audience, so if you are signing up to be on the line up, please bring with you at least 2 friends to support (This is required to confirm your slot )

You will NOT be allowed on stage if you are intoxicated
