Baked Shakespeare at Kaya Cafe (Dinner and a Show): As You Like It

After a sold out Cape Town run, Baked Shakespeare is bringing a new experience … this time, with a THC infused dinner alongside the show! Using a similar structure to the Off-Broadway hit Drunk Shakespeare, this theatre company has created a psychedelic evening of classical performance with a twist, and some of the grooviest 420 vibrations imaginable.

Baked Shakespeare is a group of professionally trained actors, performing Shakespeare how you have NEVER seen it before. This time, the show includes a 3 course meal that has been catered to reflect the world of As You Like It.

As You Like It is a classic Shakespearean comedy, following the love story between Rosalind and Orlando. The story revolves around the freedom found in the Forest of Arden, as our characters flee the tyrannical Duke Frederick. Through this, we get to know the deep friendship between Rosalind and her cousin Celia, the brotherhood of the banished Duke Senior and his lords, and the raunchy relationship between Touchstone and Audrey.

The show plays with gender identity, feminism, and WRESTLING. Fun fact, Rosalind is known as the “female Hamlet” because she has the most lines of any woman in a Shakespeare play.
