NOTE: Thank you for your ticket purchase. Please Note you will also need to sign an indemnity form for each one of your children at registration on Monday morning. If you are sending your child with someone else please arrange to have the form signed ahead of time.
Cavod Performing Arts and House of Praise will be conducting a week-long performing arts Holiday Club for children aged 10-18. The workshops will be Monday-Thursday 3-7 April from 8:45-15:00 and on Friday 8 April at 9:00 (Good Friday) there will be a Closing Performance where the kids will get a chance to perform alongside Cavod Performing Arts to showcase their skills to family and friends.
Lunch will be provided. Please bring a water bottle.
There will be a Walking Bus leaving every day from Chapel Street for children in the Zonnebloem area. The kids will be escorted to the Holiday club in the morning and back to Chapel Street in the afternoon.
Available workshops listed below. Each student can take 4 workshops.
- Hip-Hop
- Join this high speed, energetic class paired with fun beats that will inspire all to move in their God given freedom! Fast paced warm ups and powerful dance combos will vary in street dance styles and will leave dancers feeling alive!
- Contemporary Worship Dance
- This class will take you on a journey through scripture, movement, and prophetic imagery to grow closer to Jesus and to find freedom in movement. Class will kick off with a warm up and then all will be encouraged to go deep in their worship through dance!
- Jazz
- This upbeat and athletic style of dance will encourage dancers to leap, turn, and move with sharp edges and flavor! Challenge yourself with a dynamic warm up lead by our instructors and then focus on Jazz technique with across the floor and center combinations. Classes will end with a powerful routine set to popular music.
- Worship/Vocals/Leading Worship
- Dive into the basics of leading worship and singing on a team! Discover how to create a worship set, lean into the Holy Spirit for guidance during congregational worship, and develop creative ways to incorporate the arts as a worship leader!
- Spoken Word/Poetry
- In this class you will learn how to put your words and form a beautiful piece of artistry, that will speak truth and pierce the heart! You will collaborate with your class to create and perform a piece at the end of the week.
- Drum Lessons
- Learn the basics of drums with our skilled instructor! This time of learning will focus on the fundamental skills you will need to know to continue in your artistry and perform a new song learned by the end of the week.
- Musical Theatre
- Join us in this class to discover the Broadway Dancer inside of you! Listen to world renown showtunes and learn exciting combinations to them as you are coached by our instructors through each dance step. This class will also pay special focus on performance quality and stage presence!
- Scrapbooking
- Collect pictures from the week captured by our team and construct a scrapbook to take home full of memories from the week. Get creative with drawings, cutouts, and stickers to decorate your scrapbook however you would like.
- Art
- Discover the artist in you. In this class you will learn to blend, shade, paint, draw, and create a masterpiece to take home with you at the end of the week. Take time to discover how the Lord can speak though your artistry.
- Basketball
- Work on your hoops and ball handling skills.
